Leaning Outhouses of Bodie

Plenty of structures in Bodie need a little help remaining (somewhat) upright.

  1. Thanks for your visit to my blog, and your kind words. It seems we share an interest in photographing old stuff like old cars and old buildings. I like your flower photos too.

One wonders why anyone even bothered to prop this outhouse up, or why they waited until it was leaning so far. The board propping it up makes it a humorous scene to me!

  2. If I weren't so far behind and there were more photos from Bodie posted on this site, this would make a great deal more sense. Thanks to you John, I realize that. Most of the buildings in the Ghost Town of Bodie, in the Eastern Sierra region of California, are showing their age. Bodie, once a thriving gold mining town, is now a state park. The state has done an admirable job of preserving the entire site in painstaking detail. Visiting there is quite a history lesson.
    Thanks, John, for dropping by.
