I have encountered a problem posting comments at a number of sites. So far, I am mystified as to the why. Just living with the frustration for now. Sooner or later, I will stumble upon the solution.

When trying to use my Google ID, I have encountered this error messge at at few sites. Just haven't figured out yet how to fix what is wrong.
ReplyDelete"We're sorry, but we were unable to complete your request.
The following errors were found:
Input error: Cookie value is null for FormRestoration"
Say what??!! Of course, it typical of me to be mystified by computer issues.
Anita, you might try going into your browser settings and clear your cache. It might be a corrupt cookie...worth a try.
ReplyDeleteEarl - Why do I never seem to think of the cache? I clear history regularly, but this never comes to mind. I will try this immediately. Thanks a million.
ReplyDeleteEarl- That wasn't it, but thanks a million for the helpful advice. I probably needed to do that anyway. Meantime, this issue now won't let me post on my site with my ID. This is nuts.
ReplyDeleteI have trouble commenting on Blogger/blogspot blogs pretty regularly, but I always figured that was because I use wordpress. You said you've cleared your cache - have you tried resetting your cookies?
ReplyDeleteJP - Thanks for the response. I switched ID's and now that is working—was finally able to comment on those blogs. I cleared all cookies. Hope that is the same as "resetting". I have come to expect very weird stuff from any and every thing computer related.
ReplyDeleteI love how computers often talk to us in plain english to help us figure out what is going wrong! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMark - "Plain English"??! In whose universe? ;-) just have to rib you a bit for that phrase. As one who doesn't "speak the language", most of it sounds
ReplyDeleteIke gibberish to me. It is true, you know—Learning a new language gets tougher every year of one's life. I got started way too late. Fact is I was born too soon for these new-tangled gadgets.
By the way, the problem healed itself just yesterday. Evidently, someone over at the Blogger department of Google had a brainstorm and, fortunately it has passed.
Mark speaks fluent Klingon too!!!
ReplyDeleteKen - I never cease to marvel at Mark's accomplishments, but admit that this is news to me. Perhaps interplanetary communication explains some of his inspired work. Darn. No wonder I am such a disadvantage.
ReplyDeleteHey, I never claimed I could understand any of it either. Sorry to disappoint. :-)
ReplyDeleteMark - Evidently you didn't get the memo. It was Pick on Mark Day. Darn, I try so hard to hide my jealousy, but some days I can't control myself and lash out. I'm better now.
